Leap of Faith

We are all faced with hundreds of decisions each day.  The decisions that we are faced with can be as simple as what to eat for dinner or as difficult as where to apply for work.  The first person I go to for advice before making a decision is my mom or my best friend.  BUT, imagine how different things would be if I stopped and prayed about each decision before I ask for my mom’s advice.  My mom and friends give great advice, but only The Lord knows how my future is going to pan out. And, only The Lord knows exactly which path I should take.  Most of the time, my mom gives me the advice that I want to hear.  Either that, or she she gives me the complete opposite.  But, my Heavenly Father gives me the advice that I NEED–not always the advice that I want, not always the advice that I think is best for me, but the advice that I need.

God directs our steps for us. He already has everything planned out for us.  All we need to do is listen to his still voice.  The only way we can be sure of what he wants from us is to stay connected with Him.  Until recently, I had no clue how to listen for God’s voice, but the more I read my bible and the more I talked to Him, the more I was able to grasp what He wanted for me.  I encourage you to talk to God the next time you’re faced with a difficult decision or the next time you need advice.  Next time, take a leap of faith, and before rushing to your phone to text your mom, dad, or best friends, you should pray.

Proverbs 16:9 says,”In their hearts, humans plan their course, but The Lord establishes their steps.”

with much love,
