I have a friend who texts me every morning and says, “What have you learned about Jesus today?” Recently, Jesus has pounded it into my head that I do not need to worry because He has overcome the world. There is so much to know about God, and I pray every day that He continues to reveal Himself to me more and more. But recently, all of my devotionals have been about worrying. Those of you who actually know me, know that I worry about everything. Its kind of sad, actually. HAH. But, over the past few months, my trust has been so hidden in God that worrying is hardly in my nature anymore. God is so great. He knows my heart, and He knows the verses that I need to mediate on, and He continues to show me that He is in control and I have nothing to fear.
It seems almost impossible to not worry, but The Lord of the Universe comforts us through His Word by telling us that He has overcome the world, and we only need to be still.
Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Psalm 55:22 says, “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Matthew 6:34 says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
How blessed are we that we have a God to comfort us. Pray for God to reveal Himself to you and others more and more each day. The comfort you will receive when you take the leap of faith to put all of your trust into the Lord is unfathomable.
xoxo,
Hayden
