Unanswered Prayers

God is not a vending machine.  You cannot just ask God for something and expect Him to spit it out at you.  Most of the time, God does not give you want you want immediately, either.  But, that is awesome because when God makes us wait, he matures us.  James 1:1-5 says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.  If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”  Our God will ALWAYS provide, but He likes to test our faith at times, too.  Don’t expect to experience all of God if you only pray when you need something.  Don’t expect to experience all of God if you only give him weekend visits on Sunday church days.  Don’t expect to experience all of God if you retweet or share something on twitter or facebook that says “retweet/share if you love God.”  God wants full custody of us.  Make it a habit to spend time with God daily, and I promise you will see a change in your life.  God wants us to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and to be constant in prayer. (Romans 12:12) .  God wants you to pray when you’re happy, pray when you’re sad, pray when you’re mad, and to pray about everything…constantly!  Our God is always faithful to us, so we should always be faithful to him.  If you feel like your prayers are not being answered, then maybe try a new approach.  Do not just ask him to fulfill your wants and needs, but seek Him and thank Him for everything that He has already provided for you.  Do not expect your prayers to be answered immediately, either.  If God does not answer your prayers when you want Him to, it is because:

a) He has something much greater in store for you, or

b) It is not the right timing

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” Matthew 7:7

  1. And ssometimes what we ask for is not what we really need, though we may think so. God sees the whole picture and His plan is perfect. Trust Him and don’t lean on our own understanding. If we wait on Him we will receive what is best for us. As we say, we are only human. The Lord is first and last..our hope and strength.
